Government should: Provide, in the UK’s next State Report, updated and detailed information on the steps being taken to combat racial discriminaton against Haitians in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Original UN recommendation
The Committee welcomes the commitment expressed by the delegation of the State party to support the local authorities and the Turks and Caicos Islands Human Rights Commission in their efforts to combat all forms of racial discrimination against persons of Haitian nationality. The Committee requests the State party to provide, in its next periodic report, updated and detailed information on the situation of Haitians in the Turks and Caicos Islands, as part of its report on the situation of the British overseas territories.
