Government should: In the UK’s next State Report, provide detailed information on steps taken to implement in particular the recommendations in relation to making CERD a reality for everyone, a British bill of rights, discrimination against people of African descent, the situation of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers, and the forcible eviction of Chagossians from Diego Garcia.

The Committee wishes to draw the attention of the State party to the particular importance of the recommendations contained in paragraphs 8 (implementation of the Convention), 10 (bill of rights), 23 (discrimination against persons of African descent), 25 (Gypsies, Travellers and Roma) and 41 (forcible eviction of Chagossians from Diego Garcia) above, and requests the State party to provide detailed information in its next periodic report on the concrete measures taken to implement those recommendations.
