Government should: Support the independent monitoring of the implementation of the CRPD across the UK, including by funding disabled people’s organisations, in line with UN advice on independent monitoring frameworks.
Original UN recommendation
The Committee recommends that the State party ensure in all its entities the independence of, and provide sufficient funding for, both established monitoring frameworks and organizations of persons with disabilities to enable them to monitor the implementation of the Convention across the State party, taking into account the guidelines on independent monitoring frameworks and their participation in the work of the Committee (see CRPD/C/1/Rev.1, annex).
