Dylai’r llywodraeth: Ymgynghori â’r cyhoedd ar gynlluniau i ddiddymu’r Ddeddf Hawliau Dynol ac ar y cynnig am Fesur Hawliau newydd. Sicrhau bod unrhyw gyfreithiau newydd perthnasol yn cryfhau amddiffyniadau hawliau dynol, yn arbennig hawliau lleiafrifoedd ethnig. Mabwysiadu’r mesur hawliau ar gyfer Gogledd Iwerddon, a sicrhau ei fod yn alinio gyda CERD a safonau hawliau dynol rhyngwladol eraill.”
Argymhelliad gwreiddiol y CU
The Committee recommends that the State party undertake meaningful and broad public consultation on its proposal to revise its human rights legislation and that it ensure that any changes to the current human rights framework strengthen the protection of human rights, in particular the rights of individuals protected under article 1 of the Convention. The Committee also recommends that the State party expedite the process of adopting the bill of rights for Northern Ireland, and ensure that it is in line with the provisions of the Convention and with other international human rights standards.
